On March 19, 2011, Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) organized the ceremony to recognize Vietnam Heritage Tree for a thousand-year old “Thi’ tree in Nhuan Trach village, Van Thang commune, Ba Vi, Ha Noi.

On May 16, 2011, a large number of officials, soldiers and people from ethnic minorities gathered near Coc Bo Cave (Pac Bo- Cao Bang Historical Protection Zone) to attend the ceremony to recognize the ancient “Nghien” tree as Vietnam Heritage Tree held by VACNE in collaboration with Cao Bang Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment and Ha Quang District People’s Committee.

On May 17, in Kim Loan commune, 72 kilometers far from Cao Bang, VACNE in collaboration with Cao Bang Association for Conservation of Nature & Environment and Ha Lang District People’s Committee held the ceremony to honor a thousand-year old “Nghien” tree growing on the way to Lung Tung village as Vietnam Heritage Tree.

VACNE-Recently, VACNE’s Heritage Tree Board has continuously received official letters from People’s Committees of communes and wards, and local authorities that suggest the Board to consider the recognition of their ancient trees as Heritage Trees so that people can take special care and protection of them.
