Thousand-year-old weeping fig becomes Vietnam’s heritage tree

VietNamNet Bridge – An ancient weeping fig tree of 27 meters tall in the central province of Nghe An has been recognized as the heritage tree of Vietnam by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (Vacne).

The Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) has presented a certificate to recognise a population of 220 Shan Tuyet Tea trees at Cao Bo commune, Vi Xuyen disitrict, Ha Giang as heritage trees of Vietnam.

More than 970 trees of 70 different plant species across the nation have been recognised as Vietnam Heritage Trees, a conference was told in northern Phu Tho province on April 19.
