Hanoi-Haiphong luxury train service to be operated this weekend

06 May 2025 | 07:03:00 AM

The Hanoi-Haiphong luxury train service will be launched by the Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) on May 10.

As many as 20 luxury carriages will serve passengers on train services: HP1/HP2, LP5/LP6, LP2/LP3, and LP7/LP8. The carriages boast the vibrant red of the flamboyant flower, symbolising Haiphong City.

Two 34-seat carriages are designed in Indochinese style, combining modern and traditional Asian colours to form a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere. They have natural wood floors, Wi-Fi, and a free drink bar. This is also a place for musical performances.

The carriages have semi-automatic doors and electronic displays showing the train’s location and speed.

The 34-seat carriages cost VND250,000 per weekday ticket and VND300,000 on weekends (Friday to Sunday). Passengers get one free drink of their choice for the entire journey.

The 56-seat carriages are priced at VND150,000 per weekday ticket and VND180,000 on weekends; passengers are provided one bottle of water.

Besides 20 luxury carriages, the trains HP1/HP2, LP5/LP6, LP2/LP3, and LP7/LP8 offer 64-seat standard carriages priced at VND105,000 on weekdays and VND130,000 on weekends.

During the launch week (from May 10 to May 18), VNR will offer a 10-percent discount on all HP1/HP2, LP5/LP6, LP2/LP3, LP7, and LP8 train services.
