VACNE Standing Committee agrees to overcome difficulties to successfully complete tasks in 2024

(VACNE) - On July 4, the Standing Committee of the VACNE met in person and online at 3 bridgeheads: Hanoi – Hue – Ho Chi Minh City, listened to the report on the results of the first 6 months of the year and agreed to act in the remaining months of 2024 with high determination.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh opened the meeting with a summary report "On the results of the Association's activities in the past 6 months" with 7 main topics. Specifically: expanding the organizational network; Consultancy - Assessment - Social Criticism; Communication; Scientific research; people's foreign relations; Conservation of Heritage Trees and Other Tasks.

Regarding the organization, the Committees and Councils of the Association have been consolidated, with the number of members not exceeding 9 people. In addition, the Association has issued a Decision to establish a new Institute of Environmental Education and Community Development (headquartered in Da Lat) and admitted 2 new member units in Hanoi. It is the Organic Agriculture Center with the participation of the community and Dai Phu Construction Joint Stock Company.

The Association of Occupational Safety and Environment in many localities has been strengthened and expanded. Typically, the Ninh Binh Provincial Association for Nature and Environment Protection successfully organized the Congress for the 2024-2029 term, the Environmental Communication Cycling Club connecting the Heritage Tree was consolidated, re-elected the Board of Directors and developed 10 new members. 

VACNE's strong activities are Consulting - Assessment and Social Criticism on natural resources and the environment are well maintained. With many experts of the Association regularly answering interviews on the central and local media.

VACNE's communication work is maintained quite well on the Website and the Electronic Environment Magazine. In particular, the opening of this year's "For the National Green Environment" Program, with the activity "Phu Tho - Green Aspiration" with the planting of 5 Heritage Konia trees and a fashion show from recycled materials, within the framework of the program "Hung Temple Festival 2024" has made a good impression in social projects 

Vietnam Heritage Tree Conservation activities are increasingly expanding and vibrant, meeting the requirements of the local community. By the end of May 2024, there have been over 8,000 trees, belonging to 145 plant species of 57 provinces and cities recognized as Vietnamese Heritage Trees. In the first 6 months of this year alone, hundreds of individuals, belonging to 9 new tree species in 3 provinces: Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Lai Chau entered the list of Vietnam Heritage Trees. 

At this meeting, the delegates approved the Report, highly appreciating the efforts of the whole Association in completing the tasks set for the first 6 months of 2024; at the same time, agree with the work orientations in the last 6 months of 2024 as proposed in the Report. 

All 15 opinions speaking at this meeting agreed with the Report and highly appreciated the efforts of the whole Association to basically complete the set plan. Many local associations, especially Hai Phong, Phu Tho, the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council and the Association's Office actively participated in the Vietnam Heritage Tree Conservation event with many results and good impacts.
