(VACNE) - In the first months of 2025, the VACNE continues to affirm its pioneering role in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, with the action motto "Environment with Community".
On the eve of the preliminary meeting of the first quarter of 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Association, many outstanding data and events have been synthesized by the Office of the Association, demonstrating VACNE's continuous contributions in the fields of social consulting and criticism, environmental communication, international cooperation and especially the conservation of Vietnamese Heritage Trees.
Many practical activities, community cohesion
In March 2025, many individuals and organizations at home and abroad have come to VACNE to exchange, cooperate and find solutions to environmental problems. Some typical activities can be mentioned:
* Supporting the younger generation in environmental research:
Bui Nguyen M.T., a grade 12 student of Yerba Buena High School (USA), asked the Association to advise on a graduation project on solutions to reduce environmental pollution in Vietnam.
Tran Bao L., a student of Nguyen Sieu School (Hanoi), interviewed a representative of the Association to study solutions to implement SDG 14 – "Protecting the seas and oceans".
* Research cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations:
The International Water Resources Institute (WRI) sent the Society important information about the role of public banks in expanding climate finance.
The National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) invites VACNE to participate in joint scientific research projects between Vietnam and Korea in the period of 2025-2028.
BJC Korea is in regular contact with the VACNE office regarding the treatment of soil toxins in Vietnam.
STC Vietnam Co., Ltd. (ESDO) invites the Association to participate in a study on the presence of microplastics in tea bags - an environmental issue that is of concern.
Continuing the journey of preserving Vietnam's Heritage Trees
In addition to international research and cooperation activities, VACNE still strongly maintains activities to preserve the ecosystem and protect Vietnamese Heritage Trees. Leaders and members constantly participate in ceremonies honoring Heritage Trees, examining and treating ancient trees, and promoting communication to raise public awareness.
With a series of meaningful activities in recent years, VACNE continues to affirm its mission of connecting science, community and policies to promote environmental protection, towards a green, clean and sustainable Vietnam.
