A nest of 78 rare turtle eggs has been found on an island in the southern central province of Binh Thuan.
This morning, August 2, Hon Cau Marine Protected Area staff were on patrol when they saw the eggs at Trang Dao Beach.

The staff carefully gathered the eggs and took them to an egg incubation area on Hon Cau.
Luu Yen Phi, a staff member, said they did not see the mother turtle, so they could not know the species to which the turtle eggs belong. However, the egg nests detected on the island are often identified as the rare green turtle species.
According to Phi, this is the first turtle egg nest discovered on Hon Cau Island this year.
The sea turtle nesting season usually lasts from May to October on the island.
