Present at the closing ceremony were representatives of China Radio International (CRI), the Vietnam Association for the Conservation of Nature and the Environment (VACNE), Vietnam’s Consulate in Nanning and all the cyclists who took part in the tour.
It aims to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Vietnam-China Year of Friendship.
During the tour, young Vietnamese and Chinese people organised a series of activities with local young people to honour the two countries’ traditional friendship and swop their experiences on environment protection.
The cyclists, both Vietnamese and Chinese, departed from Hanoi on July 5 and cycled through the northern provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Lang Son, and arrived in Nanning, China on July 15.
On the same day, the Vietnamese volunteers left Nanning by train after finishing their 500-km cycling tour in 11 days.
