Two ancient trees in the suburbs of Thang Long were honored as Vietnamese Heritage Trees

(VACNE) – On the morning of November 17, 2024, all levels of government, mass organizations and communities of An Phu village, Hoa Phu commune (Ung Hoa district – Hanoi city) solemnly organized the Great Solidarity Day of the whole people and the ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition of Vietnamese Heritage Trees for banyan trees and ancient Hoi trees planted in the communal house more than 300 years ago.
This is an ancient village that has been formed on the left bank of the Day River for thousands of years, located about 45 km south of the center of Thang Long citadel.
Attending, rejoicing and giving flowers to celebrate the Ceremony of Welcoming the Certificate of Recognition of Vietnamese Heritage Trees with the people of An Phu village were a large number of leaders of the Vietnam Association for Conservation and Environment, the Environmental Cycling Club connecting the Heritage Tree and leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee. People's Council and Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hoa Phu commune. A number of religious dignitaries, along with a large number of people in the region also came to congratulate this event.
On behalf of the Vietnam Association of Occupational Diseases and Environment, Prof. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Huy Huynh - ASEAN Biodiversity Hero awarded the Decision and Certificate of Recognition of Vietnam Heritage Trees to the representative of An Phu village government. The professor congratulated all local people and said that the granting of this certificate of recognition is not only aimed at directly protecting rare plant genetic resources, protecting biodiversity, and the richness of flora, but also has the significance of educating historical traditions and propagating for people to promote their roles. responsibility to protect trees, protect nature and the environment, contributing to promoting sustainable development of the local economy.
