Australian Specialist provides financial support to VACNE for publishing the second volumeof theViet Nam Heritage Trees Book.
(VACNE) - On 19/4/2016, Dr. Paul Barber (from Murdoch University, Australia), along with experts of the Vietnam Forestry Science Institute visited VACNE to advise on pest control for the Heritage Trees of Vietnam , and promised to support 2,500 AUD for publishing the 2nd volumeof the Viet Nam Heritage Trees Book.
Dr.Barber is one of Australia's leading experts on street trees, and cared about the event of VACNE for the Conservation of Viet Nam Heritage Trees. After having visited Vietnam many times, in collaboration with experts from VACNE, he proposed several solutions to support communities in caring for trees, old trees, and Vietnam Heritage trees. He joined with Prof. Dr. Pham Ngoc Dang, Vice President of VACNE in writing an article on consulting for Hanoi to protect and care for street trees.
After hearing the introduction to the latest publications of the relatedcommunication, community mobilisation and protection of ancient trees by Mr. Chairman BVTN & MT Vietnam as well as the difficulties of the Association, Mr. Paul haspromised to support 2,500 AUD to have more funding available to publish the two book set "Heritage trees Vietnam". On this occasion, Dr. Paul Barber also proposed the idea of a tourism cooperation organisation on the topic Vietnam Heritage Trees and the Chairman of VACNE have gladly accepted the invitation.
