Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) has just sent its recommendations on some issues related to the Conference on Sustainable Development to be held in Brazil (Rio+20) to several responsible authorities including National Board for sustainable Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam Environment Administration, and Agenda 21 Office in Vietnam.

 

Contents of recommendations have been compiled from experiences of actual activities of VACNE and its members and, specially, from the document sent by TAI Global Secretariat.  The recommendations aim at implementing in practice the Principle 10 of the Rio-92 Declaration and, namely, at mechanism of implementing the Principle 10 at all levels, from global to regional and national ones. The principle clearly states the need of promoting the community role in environmental protection and sustainable development but its practical implementation is still lacking in many ways.

TAI Global Secretariat has elaborated very detailed recommendations for the Rio+20 on Principle 10 implementation and for improving the zero draft of the main Conference's document. VACNE fully agrees with these recommendations and has made concrete recommendations appropriate to the Vietnamese conditions which have been sent to above mentioned institutions.
