General Introduction

In the context of climate change increasingly affecting all aspects of economic and social life, especially for communities, the Vietnamese book market still lacks in-depth research works that address this issue from the perspective of the community—the directly affected group and also the key force in responding to climate change.

Based on research results and evaluations of community environmental protection models since 2005, along with a large body of scientific materials gathered from 8 scientific conferences on “Global Climate Change and Vietnam’s Response Solutions,” 6 scientific conferences on “Biodiversity Conservation in the Truong Son Range,” as well as many other research projects and scientific workshops, VACNE has compiled and published the book "Responding to Climate Change from the Community Perspective."

The book is aimed at a wide audience including policymakers, managers, lecturers, researchers, and the general public; it emphasizes the scientific basis, summarizes practical experiences, and selects appropriate methodologies to develop and expand community models responding to climate change in a sustainable development direction.
