The Fourth Workshop on Biodiversity Conservation of Truong Son Mountain Range

According to VACNE’s activity schedule, a workshop on Biodiversity Conservation of Truong Son Mountain Range will be held in the 4th quarter of this year.
Since 2007, VACNE has been holding these annual workshops focusing on the 3 main functions of the region:
- A region with some of the richest biodiversity in Vietnam and world-wide
- A large mountainous region of the country with unique economic, social, ethnic, and cultural development process;
- Its capability to effectively withstand the consequences of the world climate change.
In previous workshops, tens of scientific reports have been presented. The workshops have drawn attention and participation of not only domestic environmental scientists and managers at the central as well as provincial levels but also of scientists from Laos, Cambodia, ASEAN Biodiversity Conservation Center, and many international institutions and projects.
Especially, at the 4th workshop a document called the “Biodiversity Conservation of Truong Son Mountain Range” will be launched. The document preliminarily sums-up conclusions of the previous 3 workshops. The document has been compiled by 10 scientists and managers and ispublished by Natural Resources and Environment Publishing House. It includes an introduction from Dr. Bui Cach Tuyen, Vice Minister cum Director General of the Vietnam Environment Administration.
For users reference, the reports from the 4th workshop and contents of the above mentioned document will be posted on VACNE’s website. The time and place of the workshop will be announced as soon as possible.
