Attending the conference were Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh along with more than 600 delegates representing leaders of the Party, National Assembly, Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, branches and mass organizations at the Central Level; People's Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment of 63 provinces and centrally-run cities; universities, institutes, research centers and experts in the field of environment, representatives of a number of international organizations in Vietnam.

First of all, our Association always focuses on the organization and development of the Association, as a solid basis for units and members to operate. The core of the Association is the force of scientific and technical staff, but the Association has continuously expanded its composition to other subjects under the motto "towards the community". 

Next, the Association always organizes the synchronous implementation of activities in accordance with the task functions prescribed by the Association's Charter. The work of consulting, assessment and social criticism has always been of particular interest to VACNE, from central to local units, organizations and members. This activity is highly appreciated by the authorities and social projections. The leader of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment commented that there is no important document of the Ministry without the quality input of VACNE.

VACNE has successfully organized a series of Seminars and Webinars on topics in response to major environmental holidays in 2020 and 2021. For example, a number of topics have been carried out: Association activities in the "new normal" circumstances; Environmental security; Ecosystem restoration; There is only one Earth;...  Especially the coordination of organizing seminars and webinars on "Caring for old trees - Heritage Trees" with partner Nam Nimh (China); The International Workshop in collaboration with the UK Department of the Environment on "The Impact of Environmental Pollution on Biodiversity and Human Health" yielded good results and opened up a long-term partnership with the Society.

Next, we would like to present the lesson of creativity in the organization of activities. It is the initiative to launch the event "Conservation of Vietnamese Heritage Trees" – a specific activity of VACNE. This event was initiated by us in 2010. Despite many difficulties, over the past 10 years, the movement has been responded to by the community and has grown more and more. To date, VACNE has recognized nearly 6,000 ancient, belonging to 140 plant species, across 54 provinces and cities as Vietnamese Heritage Trees. 

Thanks to the activities of Preserving Vietnamese Heritage Trees, our Association is honored to be awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Therefore, it can be said that initiative and creativity are always requirements and also lessons learned for the Association's activities.

Finally, we would like to mention the experience: finding ways to promote the potential strengths of our members – leading experts in the environment. It can be said that the main force of the VACNE Board of Directors is very experienced experts, very enthusiastic to contribute to the work of the association.

Continuing to promote the existing results, including drawing and applying lessons learned in the past period, trying to overcome difficulties and obstacles, VACNE vows to strive to be more worthy of the trust of its members and the community, with the titles achieved, typically the Second Class Labor Medal in 2020.
