It is time for us to take urgent actions to protect Ba Vi National Park. First of all, inspection teams should be organized to evaluate the current situation of the area, then necessary proposals should be submitted to the State authorities to take specific and long term measures with the aim to avoid encroachments upon the National Park.
That is the contributive idea of many scientists and culturists, who have conducted many researches at Ba Vi National Park for years, at the seminar “Let's Jointly Rescue Ba Vi National Park” organized by Science and Life Newspaper on March 14, 2011.

Assessing the importance of Ba Vi forests, scientists said that Ba Vi National Park has diverse and rich flora and fauna, in which many rare species are found only here. This biological system helps not only research about species but also make great contribution to the medical science with many precious medicines. Ba Vi is also a sacred area of the nation. Vietnamese villages in Doai area are the places to preserve our ancestors’ cultural heritage. Architectures of temples, pagodas, communal, and village houses are the results of our ancestors’ understanding about environment, architecture and conception of shelter. A delegate said that Ba Vi has not only cultural, historical and natural values but also economic one. This land has a variety of fruits and vegetables with high economic value, and if combined with village tourism it will help educate our children to a greater love of the Vietnamese countryside.
However, Ba Vi is suffering from serious encroachment because of many harmful projects. To protect the National Park, in addition to conducting a survey on the current situation to submit to governmental authorities, specific regulations should be made by authorized agencies to protect the area. It is vital to immediately suspend on-going or planned projects that are capable of harming the National Park, even to take criminal proceedings against violated individuals and to take actions now.
Ba Vi is being exploited seriously
At the end of the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Editor-in-Chief of Science and Life Newspaper drew a following conclusion: "The contributive ideas of scientists and culturists at this seminar will be reviewed and reported to authorized agencies by Science and Life Newspaper. At the same time, the Newspaper will continue in posting information and reviewing various projects in Ba Vi to have a more comprehensive view about the current encroachment of the Ba Vi area."
