Memorable (heritage) trees in the Czech Republic

VACNE - The memorable trees in the Czech Republic are protected by law, filed in the central register, that contains information on about 5.000 memorable trees in the Czech Republic.

 
 
Presented selection is just a sample of the best known ones. Their stories became themes of books, documentary films, but also honest children’s drawings and contests. And that is just beginning of interest in trees. That is why it is of concern , that the country-wide contest “Tree of the year” is more and more popular every year and the number of participants increase. It is important prevent useless tree felling and try not to be insensible to the nature.
 
It is right that trees are protected by the state, but more important is that they are protected by people who live with them.
