Once commonly found in 11 provinces, their habitat has sadly been reduced to the four provinces of Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Son La and Nghe An.
To protect the langurs, Xuan Lien Nature Reserve will intensify measures to prevent the trafficking of wild animals, restore forests and check to define their living places.
Earlier, scientists also discovered many kinds of rare wild animals at Xuan Lien Reserve, particularly including the Muntjac deer species considered extinct for more than eight decades.
