Officials surveyed Chau Duc Commune to advance plans for new industrial zones, addressing land clearance and infrastructure challenges.

Bui Minh Tri, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority, led a delegation to work with Chau Duc Commune authorities on promoting and implementing industrial park projects.

Local officials outlined progress and persistent obstacles, including compensation, site clearance, transport links, and the provision of electricity and water.

They also proposed measures to accelerate implementation, strengthen institutional support, and improve conditions to attract corporate investment.

The authority said it would fast-track sub-area planning while stepping up investment promotion efforts for industrial zones in Chau Duc Commune.

It added that implementation would prioritise flexibility and practical solutions, with a focus on resolving bottlenecks in compensation and land clearance to speed up timelines. Greater emphasis will also be placed on developing integrated transport, power and water infrastructure.

Under the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau province master plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved in 2023, Chau Duc Commune is set to host five industrial-urban-service zones covering about 5,400ha.

By 2030, three industrial parks totalling around 3,200ha are expected to be developed: Bac Chau Duc 1 (1,200ha), Bac Chau Duc 2 (1,000ha), and Bac Chau Duc 3 (1,000ha).
