Meeting of the Executive Committee of the VACNE in 2024

At the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Thang - Vice Chairman of VACNE reported the results of the Association's main activities in 2024. In terms of organization, Binh Duong province has successfully organized the Congress of the establishment of the Provincial Association for Nature and Environment Protection; Established a new Institute of Environmental Education and Community Development Science headquartered in Da Lat, admitting 2 new member units in Hanoi. At the same time, the Ninh Binh Association for Nature and Environment Protection successfully conducted the fourth term congress, and Mr. Do Van Dung was elected as Chairman of the Ninh Binh Association for the 2024-2029 term. In addition, consolidating the organization of the Environmental Communication Cycling Club connecting the Heritage Tree, admitting some more members... 

Regarding the work of consulting, assessment and social criticism, environmental communication in the field of natural resources and environment, leaders and members regularly write articles on newspapers related to the field, especially the Nature and Environment e-Magazine (the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection) has had the post line is profound, spreading the spirit as well as raising people's awareness in environmental protection, protecting trees, ancient trees and heritage trees.

Regarding the work of "Conservation of Vietnamese Heritage Trees", the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council continuously organizes meetings to respond to and answer relevant issues for local units. By the end of November 2024, there have been over 8,000 trees, belonging to 145 species, over 58 provinces and cities recognized as Vietnamese Heritage Trees. Notably, the 2024 Heritage Tree Writing Contest was launched in March 2024, implemented by the Nature and Environment Magazine, which attracted a large number of writers across the country to attend.

Speaking at the Conference, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection highly appreciated the implementation of the plan of member units in provinces, cities and localities. At the same time, it is hoped that in the coming time, the remaining 5 provinces and cities will have ancient trees eligible for recognition as Vietnamese Heritage Trees.

On the basis of the Resolution of the VIII Congress, learning from the experience of the implementation of tasks in 2024 and in accordance with the new situation, in 2025, the whole Association will strive to implement the main tasks, specifically: Focus on summarizing the work in 2024 and proposing appropriate and feasible plans for 2025 for the whole Association and its organizations; Fully meet the requirements of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment...; Continue to consolidate and develop the Association's organization, ensure activities according to the Association's Charter for the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Councils, Professional Committees and the Association's Office.
