(VACNE) - Sincerely introduce to readers the letter of Vice President for Institutional Strategy and Development and Annual report, “Reckoning and Recovery: Working Towards a More Equitable and Sustainable Future.

Dear Dr. Huynh,

If we learned anything over the last year, it’s how fragile we are and how important it is to work together to solve global problems.
Thanks to our staff’s commitment and adaptability, as well as the ongoing support of our donors, WRI has made progress on our core issues, including tackling the climate crisis, expanding renewable energy, protecting biodiversity and pushing for an equitable economic recovery from the COVID pandemic.

We are pleased to share our just-released annual report, “
Reckoning and Recovery: Working Towards a More Equitable and Sustainable Future,” which highlights our achievements over the past year. The work featured in the report illustrates how WRI harnesses the power of our research, data and partnerships to deliver impact, as we further integrate equity and social justice into our agenda.

The report includes eight programmatic highlights from across our global network, which point to areas where we have made significant progress and continue to emphasize this year.
This work is only possible due to our active community of supporters. Examples include work WRI’s team is doing to:

The report also features reflections by WRI’s former President and CEO Andrew Steer on our evolution over the last decade, as well as an interview with Interim President & CEO Manish Bapna on how WRI will harness momentum in the critical years ahead.

Making progress on our core issues this year is essential and WRI’s mission is more critical than ever.
Dr. Huynh, will you stand with us by making a gift today?

Individual donations are crucial to our ability to address climate change, poverty reduction, and the preservation and restoration of natural systems. Every individual gift, not matter how big or small, helps us advance our work.

I hope you will join us in our commitment to improve people’s lives and ensure that nature can thrive into the future.

With warm regards,

Elizabeth Cook
