Activities of the Scientific and Technological and Environment Protection Company (STEPCO) under VACNE

Being established under Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) not for a long time but STEPCO quickly became a prestigious scientific - technological - production - service company which succeeded in releasing many new products to replace imported ones.
In 2011, STEPCO continued in improving quality of hazardous waste incinerators and released a new type of incinerator which saves energy and treats waste more effectively. On the requests of customers, STEPCO installed 6 hazardous waste incinerators including a medical waste incinerator for POSCO (South Korea) at Thua Thien - Hue General Hospital and a hazardous waste incinerator for ANKIT Project (Germany) at Tra Noc Industrial Park (Can Tho Province).
Aside from researching, designing, and manufacturing low-cost domestic waste incinerators suitable for waste treatment in Vietnam, STEPCO also designed and produced 3 automatic waste fishing out machines for an ODA project in Laos and installed 5 water and gas treatment systems for hospitals and laboratories. Six automatic water monitoring stations were also installed by STEPCO for an industrial park, and some large companies.
In the coming year, STEPCO will continue in researching and manufacturing new facilities for environmental treatment to replace import, in effective responding to the domestic market in the field of pollution treatment and environmental monitoring, and in seeking financial supporting sources for putting domestic waste incinerators into practice. Especially, STEPCO will enhance international cooperation activities to promote advanced technology transfer from abroad to Vietnam.
In order to achieve the above mentioned goals, STEPCO requests VACNE to raise its voice to relevant authorities on improvement of administrative procedures which enable and encourage companies to apply new technologies for environmental treatment.
