(VACNE) – The seminar "Natural Resources and Green Transformation in Vietnam" organized by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) on the morning of April 22, 2026, in Hanoi clarified a core issue: green transformation is not just a trend but an inevitable requirement, in which the "green mindset" plays a foundational role in shaping a sustainable development path.
The event coincides with the launch of the book of the same name published by the National Political Publishing House Truth.

Opening remarks, Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Sinh, Chairman of VACNE, stated that in the context of the world and Vietnam facing many challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental pollution, and depletion of natural resources, green transformation has become an urgent requirement.
The opinions at the seminar agreed that green transformation is not only a change in technology or policy, but more importantly a shift in development thinking – from 'growth first, remediate later' to development in harmony with nature.
“Green thinking” is emphasized as the foundation to promote green economic models, circular economy, sustainable consumption, while ensuring the balance between economic development, environmental protection, and social progress.

The presentations and discussion opinions focused on analyzing the current state of natural resources in Vietnam, highlighting major challenges in environmental protection, and emphasizing the need to shift the development model towards a green and sustainable direction.
Many opinions referred to solutions such as improving institutions, promoting the application of science and technology, developing renewable energy, circular economy, and raising community awareness. In addition, experts also pointed out current barriers regarding resources, policy mechanisms, and the readiness of businesses in the green transition process.

Within the framework of the program, VACNE officially launched the book "Natural Resources and Green Transformation in Vietnam."
The book consists of three parts, focusing on clarifying the theoretical basis of the relationship between natural resources and the green transformation process; some issues in the exploitation, use, and protection of various forms of natural resources in Vietnam; from there, it presents views, directions, and solutions to improve institutions, policies, innovate thinking, and approaches in the management of natural resources and green transformation in Vietnam.
The book is a collection of studies by many scientists in the field of natural resources and the environment, providing a comprehensive view of the relationship between natural resources and green transformation, while also proposing orientations and solutions to improve the efficiency of resource management and use in a sustainable direction.
Through discussions at the seminar, many opinions agreed that green transition is not only an inevitable requirement but also an opportunity for Vietnam to innovate its growth model, improve development quality, and enhance competitiveness.
In particular, the message of building and spreading a “green mindset” throughout society was emphasized as a key factor determining the success of the green transition process in the coming time.
The seminar has contributed to strongly spreading awareness about the rational use of natural resources, environmental protection, and sustainable development, while also affirming the role of the scientific intellectual team in accompanying the country on the path towards a green Vietnam.
